My name is Kirsty McInnes. I'm a senior at the University of Michigan majoring in communication studies and minoring in writing. This project was completed as a capstone project for my minor and is an unofficial combination of my major, minor, and identity as a first generation immigrant in the United States.

I have become more in tune with my immigration status during the Trump Era, and wanted to shed some light on the life of an "invisible immigrant" (we exist!)

This project is written from my own perspective, while trying my best to keep the perspective of others in mind. If you have another viewpoint that I missed, let me know! I'm always interested in discussing the increasingly cavernous topic that is U.S. immigration.
